Well hello there
I recently split this site in two, to confuse unsuspecting visitors. If you want occasionally interesting bits and pieces I come across around the web, plus some food, some music and the occasional foray into news curation stay here.
If you want to read my more work-related witterings, you should probably go to work.loughlinonolan.com.
If you don't know why you're here at all, I'm afraid I can't really help you with that.

Escape Velocity Achieved
This effect was not entirely achieved solely by using Instagram’s clunky-but-charming filters. The composition of the shot was a complex process, which involved running at a group of ducks minding their own business on the edge of a large pond. … Continue reading
Ah, the Septic Tiger. I knew him well.
Irish Times Property Supplement typo.
“Born With The Gift Of A Golden Voice”
An attempt to give away tickets to a Leonard Cohen show, from the golden days of radio, April 2012.
Things Wot I Have Digitised
As someone with a reasonable CD collection, I’ve been awfully bad at getting around to ripping all of them to digital. This month I shall remedy that. I never was one for storing them in any particular order, so grabbing … Continue reading
“I’d Like To Learn How To Have A Conversation”
An interesting TED talk from Sherry Turkle. The pace of change in certain social behaviours, from taboo to norm, has fascinated me for the last number of years. As a bonus, here’s a very succinct summary by Turkle of why … Continue reading
